Landscape Planning and Environmental Systems
In the course, students learn about the concept of landscape in planning, the links between landscape structure and function in the context of environmental systems (soil, water, air, climate, flora and fauna), and how landscape structures, functions, and changes can be measured and evaluated with spatial data. The relevance of ecosystem goods services is illustrated, as well as planning methods and instruments to maintain or improve ecosystem services.
The contents of the course will be illustrated in the associated lecture 103-0347-01 U (Landscape Planning and Environmental Systems (GIS exercises)). A combination of both courses is recommended.
